The NC Green Industry is the fastest growing segment of agriculture in North Carolina. Greenhouse, nursery and floriculture crops were the number one crop in North Carolina ahead of tobacco, cotton and soybeans. This ranked 4th in the United States behind California, Florida and Texas with $893 million in sales.

Undergraduate turf management programs at NCSU named number one in the United States by TurfNet Magazine.  North Carolina homeowner’s average past expenditure for lawn and landscape services was $800.00.

Over 2.9 million North Carolina homeowners spent an average of $718.00 for green goods, equipment and supplies.

The primary functions of the North Carolina Green Industry Council are to unite all green industry associations and constituents under one umbrella organization whose responsibility it is to represent and protect the interests of our members regarding local, state and federal legislation, to promote the value of green industry products and services directly to the consumer and to represent the green industry as an advocate and leader of environmental stewardship.

Our Mission

To establish unity among the diverse segments of the North Carolina Green Industry in regard to common issues and concerns and to provide an umbrella of legislative advocacy,  promotion of the industry and represent the green industry as a steward of the environment and an advocate and leader of environmental stewardship.
